Pema Choden has carried forward the legacy left by her father to continue in this line of business. She is an industrious entrepreneur. She self taught herself to hone her culinary skills. Her husband who shares her interest has been very supportive in managing the business.
Back in 1990s, they opened a small restaurant and offered catering services to the Dzongkhag administration offices in old town of Wangdue. Soon their restaurant grew popular as "Dzong canteen" with locals as well as tourist. They always believed in quality of the services they offered and good hygiene was their top priority. In 2017, the then Prime Minister of Bhutan Dasho Tshering Tobgay publicly made it known that he frequented the place for its delicious meals. He acknowledged Pema Choden through his facebook page as a model employer.
They had no formal education in the hospitality industry but with their hard work and dedication, they serve customers with the best quality of delicacies and services, they are now the proud owner of "Hotel Phuensum".

Hello! My name is Tandin Choki.
I am passionate about learning new things and travelling. Since my school days I have been helping my parents in the hotel and over the period of time, I have developed a great enthusiasm for working in the hospitality sector. Right after my graduation in BBA (Marketing) from Gedu college of Business Studies, I have been managing my parent's hotel.
The Hospitality Industry has served to be a huge inspiration in motivating me to apply for Diploma course in Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management (ITH Kleßheim) Salzburg , Austria. Currently, I am studying Hotel Management Program.
